1st Indian Woman ever to win a medal at Paralympic Games – Deepa Malik

14 September 2016

On 12th Sep 2016, Deepa Malik created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a silver medal in the shot-put F-53 event at the Rio Paralympics. She has no sensation below her chest. She was the first biker, first swimmer, first rallyist (rally driver) and now the first Paralympian medallist. She has proven a point that not being able to walk does not change anything. The term mind over body was probably coined for champion like Deepa.
